Connection 2

From last week studio, after the group meeting, we now have two methods for the bus stop:

From Jason Lo's idea:

# The only issue is the prototype model Jason made is not stable. It is very easy to twist.
To improve it, my suggestion is to change the round tubes to square or rectangle tube. They both got right angles, so not that easy to twist.

From Kangyi (Tony) Tang's Idea:

From Tony's idea, our group discussed and improved it to this:

Two plates are fixed to the base and extend to two different length to support the seats.

Consider there is gap between every section, make it easier to build, I improved it this week.

Cut slots on the planks, the length of the slot is half of the plate.

Same in the seat sections, the slot's length also is half of the plate.

This method somehow save the materials and provide a more stable way to fixed the seats. But it increases the difficulty of making two plates.

The testing model I made:

Inspired by the dish rack, the sections can sit on the case, fixed by those two plates.
